Review of Blue Skies Tomorrow: A Novel (Wings of Glory) by Sarah Sundin

Blue Skies Tomorrow by Sarah Sundin is a well written book that is somewhat heavy handed and plays heavy on the reader’s emotions. I was taken by surprise by some of the issues the author dealt with in this book (such as abuse and bigotry). The story runs along rather rapidly which can be good but coupled with the emotionally draining action (which offers very little respite), the story begs to be put down from time to time so the reader can rest. The writing was good, the characters well developed and  the story line is decently developed (though I didn’t care for the way some things were handled). Abuse of women and bigotry are things that needs to be written about and I applaud Mrs. Sundin for having the gumption to attempt to tackle such difficult issues in a novel; however, I didn’t always like the way she resolved the issues. Sadly, this isn’t a book most mothers would want their teen daughter to read.
