Once again addressing Tim Keller and Company with their Emerging, Cultural Renewal, Renewing Creation, Social ‘Redeemed’ Gospel and Contemplative/Mystical practices…much food for thought on the way. ”Hey, You got Buddhism in my Christianity!”, Hey you got Christianity in my Buddhism!” (see picture below)

Popular evangelical Pastor Tim Keller writes a pro-theistic evolution paper for the liberal Biologos Foundation. Keller promotes social justice, theistic evolution, and mysticism. Yet, because Keller has written books and preaches sermons defending essential Christian doctrines, many evangelicals may well be lured into these dangerous and unbiblical philosophies.

It amazes me how many ‘reliable’ orthodox & reformed online book distributers handle Keller’s books, in spite of all these things. Keller has no doubt put out some good material on certain topics, but that doesn’t give him an automatic pass to pontificate on every aspect of the most holy faith without a challenge. There are no perfect servants of God, which is why we are, Berean-like, to search the Scriptures ourselves to discover what is truth and what is error.
Just as a great Bible expositor like John MacArthur can be wrong on escatology, so Tim Keller should raise a number of red flags for readers who come across his views of the issues raised by Brannon Howse.
Thank you, Anna, for the warning.
Hi Anna,
I just popped in to take a look at your site and was pleasantly surprised to see this post. I was in Chicago last week for the Gospel Coalition conference and heard Keller speak. It was my first time hearing Keller and my impression was that he was a deconstructionist bordering on Emergent. He seems to like re-defining words and orthodox teachings while striving to maintain the appearance of orthodoxy. I don’t know how deep the problem goes with Keller, but I do know when I got home I discarded the book I had on my shelf that I was planning on reading (Counterfeit Gods).
